Lauren Nye, MD

Director Breast Cancer Prevention Clinical Services for The University of Kansas Cancer Center
Dr. Lauren Nye is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a subcertification in medical oncology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed a fellowship and residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Dr. Nye specializes in the management of the continuum of breast cancer from prevention through survivorship and sees patients at an increased risk for breast cancer in her High Risk Breast Clinic and provides treatment and care for those patients diagnosed with breast cancer.

Dr. Nye's areas of research include breast cancer prevention and survivorship with current projects focusing on provider education in breast cancer risk assessment, breast cancer screening disparities, and lifestyle modification interventions for individuals with a high risk of developing cancer due to genetic mutations.

Dr. Jennifer Klemp earned a Master's in Public Health from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and a Master's in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kansas. She went on to earn a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kansas and completed an internship in Health Psychology at Rush University Medical Center.

Dr. Klemp serves on a number of national boards, is a subject matter expert in cancer genetics and survivorship and has peer-reviewed funding including an NCI R01 focused on shared-care between oncology and primary care of cancer survivors. She has presented nationally on cancer genetics, shared-decision making regarding options to manage cancer risk and survivorship issues, as well as the development and implementation of cancer genetics, survivorship, and navigation programming.
Elizabeth Wulff-Burchfield, MD

Dr. Wulff-Burchfield attended Duke University School of Medicine where she earned her Doctorate of Medicine. Following completion of an internal medicine internship and residency and fellowships in medical oncology and hospice and palliative medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, she joined the faculty at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where her areas of specialization are in genitourinary medical oncology and outpatient palliative medicine for patients with cancer.
In her oncology practice, she treats bladder, kidney, prostate, and testicular cancer using the most innovative therapies and technologies, including clinical trials. In her palliative care practice, she treats patients with any cancer diagnosis, helping support them and promote a good quality of life while they are going through cancer treatment. Dr. Wulff-Burchfield's overarching research interest is in quality of life and supportive care for patients undergoing treatment for bladder, kidney, and prostate cancer.

Catie earned her Master's in Public Health from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and has over 20 years of experience working with, and managing, multi-disciplinary teams across the cancer continuum in clinical cancer and supportive care, cancer prevention and survivorship. Catie has received training and certifications in cancer risk and genetics, tobacco treatment, health education and literacy, end of life care, clinical research practice, and Project ECHO®.
